Outfit du Jour: Half of the Time

My idea today for wearing summer clothes in fall is to layer dresses to create interesting hemlines. Today I wore a purple, sleeveless jersey, leopard-print dress underneath this black and gold party dress. I folded the lining of the black dress up and pinned it under so that the leopard print showed through the lace of the black dress instead of the plain black lining. I think it turned out pretty well. I also added a long black sweater jacket and gave it an empire waist with a gold and black jeweled belt I thrifted last weekend.

There are several ways to layer dresses, the most simple being to put a long dress underneath a shorter one, but you could also play with adding dresses with straps under strapless dresses. Glittery Zebra Print Bangle: I got this as a gift last Christmas, so I can't tell you much about it. The brand is Natasha, but that's about all I know. I really love it because of its odd shape and how it changes color in different lights. Sometimes the glitter looks brown, sometimes purple and sometimes silver. I figured it didn't matter what color it looked like today; I love to mix and match animal prints.
