Today's idea for wearing summer clothes in fall is to layer them with a turtleneck. They're pretty inexpensive so I have them in a variety of colors and once it gets cold out I put them under everything: t-shirts, dress shirts, dresses...whatever needs an extra layer to add warmth. I put a purple one on under this t-shirt to give the outfit a little color. Too bad it was like 90 degrees today. You can find the rest of my tips for transitioning your summer pieces into fall on the original list, 15 Ways to Wear Summer Clothes in Fall . Be sure to check back in tomorrow to see my approach at pairing bright, summer accessories with warm, fall outfits!
Band of Skulls T-Shirt: $20.
Purple Turtle Neck: Attention, $16. I really love this particular turtle neck because it has a rouched neck and belled sleeves and a long fitted piece on each forearm. I have this shirt in a few different colors but I like plain turtle necks as well.
Jeans: Levi's, $35.
Shoes: Old Navy, $4.
Brown and Black Fedora: from JCPenney's, $12.
Vintage Sunglasses: Thrifted, $3.
Silver Post Earrings: Carole, Inc., set of three for $4.
Vintage Black Pendant Necklace: Found at a garage sale, $4.
Vintage Mood Ring
Black and Silver Ring
White Glitter and Gunmetal-Toned Bracelet: Betsey Johnson, a gift from my mom.
I lovee the fedora & vintage jewelry ! I must say, I'm not a turtleneck kinda girl (I think it makes me look way shorter than I already am), but I love how you put your outfits together :)
Thanks guys! I'm really lucky to have been given some great vintage pieces. For instance, that mood ring was my mom's. Do you have any jewelry or clothes that were passed down to you?
the rings are so vintage. like them!
